Indiana Man Charged with Child Sexual Abuse in Missoula
23 year-old Johndar Barnes traveled from Indiana to Missoula to pursue a sexual relationship with a minor, and is now in the Missoula County Jail on $50,000 bond.
Deputy Missoula County Attorney Lacey Lincoln outlined the case against Barnes at his justice court appearance on Friday.
“The defendant moved from Indiana to Missoula to be closer to this particular victim,” said Lincoln. “He encouraged her to send sexually explicit to him of herself. He did actually meet her here in Missoula where they engaged in sexual activities. He also has nude photographs of other young females on his phone. He does not have any ties to our community, and has been living here in Missoula at the Poverello Center.”
Lincoln said Barnes has been charged with sexual intercourse without consent, sexual abuse of children with a victim under the age of 16 and sexual abuse of children possession of material considered to be child pornography.”
Bail was set in Missoula Justice Court at $50,000, and Barnes will remain in jail until his next court appearance in October.
