MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) — The president of the University of Montana has been named to a new advisory council to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Homeland  Security Secretary Janet Napolitano named Royce Engstrom to the Homeland Security Academic Advisory Council. The new council is charged with advising the secretary and senior leadership on issues related to
student and recent graduate recruitment; international students; academic research; campus and community resiliency, security and preparedness along with faculty exchanges.

The council includes university presidents and other academic leaders. Engstrom is scheduled
to attend the group's inaugural meeting in Washington, D.C., on March 20.
