The Yellowstone County Clerk of District court is apologizing and taking responsibility after search warrants were left unsealed.

The problem was discovered after details of a search warrant from a homicide investigation were published.

According to the Billings Gazette , Yellowstone County Clerk Kristie Boelter told County Attorney Scott Twito it won't happen again.

Twito had ordered all search warrants filed since 2011 to be sealed.

Warrants can be released to the public only after they have been checked and approved.
