The Missoula Fire Department responded to early morning reports of flames and smoke coming from a dryer located in the utility room of a 5-plex apartment building located at Pattee Creek Dr.

NBC Montana reports on arrival, fire crews found light smoke showing from the exterior of the two story occupied structure.  A neighbor had knocked the fire down as crews were arriving on scene, limiting fire spread.  Crews were able to quickly evacuate the entire apartment building and keep flames from spreading into the attic space.

The cause of this fire is still under investigation
