Missoula House Fire Gets Contained Quickly Over the Weekend
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On February 15, 2025, at approximately 12:15 PM, Missoula Fire Department crews were dispatched to a residential structure fire at 123 Crestview Lane. According to Acting Battalion Chief A-Shift Kory Garman, responding units included Engine 131, Engine 121, Engine 151, Ladder 148, and Command 110.
“Upon arrival, Engine 131 was first on scene and initiated entry into the basement through the rear of the residence,” Garman said. “Engine 121 established a water supply from a nearby hydrant, while Engine 151 and Ladder148 arrived to assist with backup operations. Engine 131 quickly located and extinguished the fire upon entry.”
Garman said additional responding units conducted thorough searches for fire extension and assisted with salvage and overhaul operations.
“The structure sustained significant smoke conditions, with reports of heavy smoke banking down to floor level throughout the residence,” Garman said. “Fortunately, the two occupants present at the time were alerted by their smoke detectors. Upon noticing flames under the stairs and encountering heavy smoke, they were able to safely evacuate the home before crews arrived.”
Garman also mentioned that a pet was found in the home as well and was safely evacuated by MFD personnel.
