Missoula Man Uses Water Bottle to Destroy Meth
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On May 15, 2025, at approximately 10:15 PM, a Missoula Police Department officer was near a casino where she observed a white 2008 Honda Accord parked in the parking lot. The officer immediately recognized the vehicle from an ongoing drug investigation. The registered owner, 36-year-old David Jordan, was known to be associated earlier in the day with a residence in Missoula suspected of having high drug activity.
The officer noted that there had been multiple drug-related calls at and near the address associated with this Honda as recent as a week prior, and multiple Crime Stoppers tips reporting drug activity at the residence.
At approximately 11:29 PM, the officer observed that the Honda did not have a front license plate and initiated a traffic stop. Rather than pulling over, the vehicle continued driving at a slow rate of speed, but finally came to a stop. It took an abnormally long amount of time for the vehicle to stop. The officer knew from her training and experience that drivers will often delay coming to a stop when a traffic stop is initiated to conceal or dispose of evidence of a crime.

Driver Admits to Drinking Alcohol
When the officer approached the driver's window of the vehicle and contacted Jordan, she could immediately smell the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the cab. As Jordan spoke, the officer noted that the odor became stronger. The officer asked Jordan if he had anything to drink, and he replied, "Two beers".
The officer told Jordan to exit the vehicle, and he eventually did. When SFST’s were in discussion, Jordan replied, "I'm not doing em". Jordan was then read a PAST advisory, and a breath test was requested, but Jordan refused. Then the officer read Jordan an Implied Consent Advisory and requested a blood sample, which Jordan also refused. Jordan was placed under arrest and was transported to St. Patrick’s Hospital for a blood draw.
According to court documents, the vehicle was seized and transported to the Missoula Police Department. The officer applied for and was granted a search warrant. The officer began searching the vehicle at 2:28 AM. In the front driver’s seat, the officer located a plastic disposable water bottle with the top cut off. The bottle was approximately halfway full of a clear liquid substance.

Officer Discovers Methamphetamine
Then the officer observed that methamphetamine was mixed into the liquid. The officer observed that there were multiple ripped clear plastic baggies which appeared to have contained meth. There was a sealed small plastic baggie at the top of the cut bottle which contained more meth and there were two glass smoking devices submerged in the liquid.
From the totality of the investigation, the officer concluded that the materials were intentionally ripped and submerged into the water to be destroyed, preventing their discovery.
Jordan is currently being charged with felony tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs, criminal possession of drug paraphernalia, and DUI first offense.
