The victim of a Saturday, October 26  fatal motorcycle accident on Highway 12, west of Missoula has been identified as Christopher Ewell Tucker, 41, a University of Montana student from Biloxi, Mississippi.

Sergeant Tony Rio with the Missoula Sheriff's Department said Tucker lost control of his motorcycle while rounding a curve that had become icy.

"The male motorcyclist lost control on an icy bridge deck caused by the moisture from Lolo Creek," Rio said. "The motorcycle went down on its side and continued sliding down the road and crossed the center line where it slid directly into the path of an oncoming eastbound Ford passenger car."

Rio said the motorcyclist was killed instantly.

"The motorcycle and its driver were struck, and the man died at the scene from blunt force trauma," Rio said. "The rider was wearing a helmet and did have protective equipment."

The Montana Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident.
