The Left And Right Clash Over Guns in Wake of School Shootings [AUDIO]
The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence has called a news conference for Tuesday morning with families of mass shooting victims.
The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence will hold a news conference at on the House Triangle, located on the East Front of the U.S. Capitol, at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 18, 2012, with family members who have lost loved ones and survivors of mass shootings.
Victims will share with the media a letter signed by families who have lost loved ones in all of the recent mass shootings across the country. The letter will be delivered to the White House and Members of Congress after the event.
The news conference will be hosted by Congressman David Cicilline (D-RI) and Brady Campaign President Dan Gross, whose brother Matthew was a survivor of a mass shooting atop the Empire State building in 1997.
Here in Missoula, Montana Shooting Sports Association president Gary Marbut counters the anti-gun argument by stating that the school shootings in Connecticut were made possible by public policy that ensured that the Sandy Hook School would be unprotected when the assailant arrived.
Marbut adds that the assailant used a rifle in the attack, and according to the Centers for Disease Control there were 384 people killed by rifle fire, while over 400 people died while falling out of bed. He says the emotional arguments used by liberal groups is referred to as 'dancing in the blood of the victims', by using the tragedy to promote a political agenda.
