UPDATE : 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 29 Samantha French, 20, who was reported missing Sunday evening after becoming separated from her rafting party on Sunday night was found safe Monday morning at her apartment.

Andy Hill of Missoula is the man who a bridge jumper landed on in the Clark Fork River on Sunday, July 21. Hill said this week, that the tubing trip was his very first time floating the river.

A man who was floating the Clark Fork River on Sunday afternoon had both his legs broken when a young man jumped off the Bandmann Bridge and landed on him.

Over 100 homes have been evacuated due to the West Mullan Fire that has been burning since last Sunday near Superior.

UPDATE - 8:00 a. m. Friday, July 19. The Mineral County Sheriff's Department has evacuated over 100 homes near the West Mullan Fire. The American Red Cross has opened an emergency evacuation center at the Superior Elementary School. Strong winds have pushed the fire to over 4,000 acres. On Sunday, a six year-old girl drowned in a tragic accident on the Bitterroot River, when the boat she was riding in with her father capsized.

The City of Missoula began a poplar tree plantation project for the land application of treated wastewater in 2009. Because of it's success, on Thursday, officials unveiled the expansion of the project to over 160 acres, located adjacent to the Wastewater Treatment Plant.

University of Montana Police Captain Ben Gladwin received a call on Wednesday afternoon that a man was in the Clark Fork River, and was about to be pulled under a logjam. Gladwin, with security officer TJ Johnson, entered the water and rescued the intoxicated man just as he disappeared under the water.

Starting next week, work to repair the popular kayak recreation feature Brennan's Wave will begin.
