Stage 1 Fire Restrictions

Wildland fire managers announced that stage 1  restrictions will go into effect  at midnight tonight. Stage 1 fire restrictions apply to campfires and smoking.  The restrictions apply to all public lands managed by the Lolo and Bitterroot National Forests. Counties within the affected area are: Sanders, Flathead, Lake, Mineral, Missoula, Powell, Ravalli, and Granite.

Specifically at stage 1, campfires are prohibited unless they are in a designated campsite. Smoking is also prohibited . The restrictions will remain in effect until there is a significant long-term change in fire danger.
