A 20-year-old Somers man who police say took part with two others in the beating of another man with a golf club has pleaded not guilty to felony criminal endangerment and misdemeanor assault.

The Daily Inter Lake reports that Gaige Mower made the plea Thursday in Flathead District Court.

He faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine up to $50,500. His next hearing is set for March 5.

Police say that on July 4 Mower and 19-year-old Kalispell residents Andrew Nelson and Ryan Horn assaulted another man with a golf club until it broke.

Nelson has pleaded guilty to felony assault with a weapon. Horn pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault.

Nelson is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 13.
