Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - We received a bulletin from the Salt Lake City Field Office of the FBI about the arrest and subsequent appearance in Missoula Federal Court on Monday of Tyree Dunbar of Seattle, Washington on drug trafficking and firearms charges.

FBI spokesperson Sandra Yi Barker said Dunbar was specifically charged with possession with intent to distribute controlled substances, possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of body armor by a violent felon.

Barker said Dunbar was arrested in Missoula on Saturday, March 15, without incident on an outstanding warrant out of Washington State. She said Dunbar was reportedly distributing large amounts of fentanyl and methamphetamine in Missoula.

According to Baker, several law enforcement agencies were involved in the investigation and subsequent arrest of Dunbar, including the FBI Montana Regional Violent Crime Task Force, with assistance from the Missoula County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the FBI press release, the FBI Montana Regional Violent Crime Task Force consists of agents from the FBI, as well as investigators with the Missoula Police Department, Missoula County Sheriff’s Office, the Kalispell Police Department, the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Customs Border Protection, Border Patrol, along with Montana Probation and Parole.

The release also clarified that a criminal complaint is merely an accusation. They said an individual charged by criminal complaint is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at later criminal proceedings.
