Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On July 17, 2026, a Missoula Police Department Officer was patrolling within the city limits, specifically in the area of Russell Street and Phillips Street. At approximately 1:50 AM, the officer observed a male he immediately recognized from previous interactions, 28-year-old Timothy Aramburu, walking on the sidewalk.

The officer knew Aramburu to have a history of having active arrest warrants. The officer searched Aramburu’s information via his in-car computer and found that Aramburu had two appearance warrants from Missoula Municipal Court and a third, cash-only warrant for failing to appear.

The officer contacted Aramburu, who was immediately compliant. Aramburu was placed under arrest on his outstanding warrants. The officer conducted a search incident to arrest and located a small clear plastic ziplock style baggie.

Based on his training and experience, the officer recognized the white crystalline substance as being consistent with methamphetamine. Aramburu was arrested and remanded to the Missoula County Detention Center.

Following that, the officer utilized the TruNarc, which returned a presumptive positive result for methamphetamine. The total package weight was 0.55 grams.

Aramburu is currently being charged with felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs and his bond was set at $15,000.
