Only 14 Percent of Ballots Returned in Missoula Trustee Race
There's an election going on in Missoula, but very few people appear to have made up their mind on who to vote for. There are two school trustee races that will be decided on May 5, but so far, only a few ballots have been returned.
"We're trying to inform voters to get their ballots back," said Missoula County Elections Administrator Rebecca Connors. "We have probably sent out about 55,000 ballots out for the school election, but, right now, we only have about a 14 percent return rate. We are hoping that number grows before the deadline."
The end of the election is May 5, 2015, and ballots have to be in before 8:00 p.m. The ballots need to be received by that time, not just postmarked. For those who wait till the last minute though, Connors says are lots of places to drop off a ballot.
"Come down to the fairgrounds at the elections center! On election day we will have drive-thru ballot drop offs so you don't even have to get out of your car, we'll be able to accept your ballot and give you an "I Voted" sticker. You can also go to the courthouse, and we also have four other drop off locations: Lolo School, Paxson School, Rattlesnake School and Lowell School."
