Every year the National Federation of Independent Business surveys its members on state and national issues vital to their survival as entrepreneurs. The NFIB then centers its lobbying positions in Washington and Helena based on the responses. One question asked was “should Montanans impose penalties on employers who hire illegal immigrants?” State Director for NFIB, Riley Johnson was surprised by the results.

In other results from the poll: 79% of the 5,000 members polled feel that legislation should be enacted to reform the workers’ compensation  system in Montana in order to contain costs.
