General outdoor burning season opened in March and will go through august 31st to dispose of natural vegetation. The Missoula City County Health Department has defined a new impact zone around Seeley Lake. Fire Prevention Coordinator Cindy Super says the new zone fine tunes burning restrictions to preserve air quality.

All burns within Missoula County require a permit which you can get from the local fire department.
