Montana Senators Vote to Fund Government Through December 11
The U.S. Senate voted this morning, September 30, to keep the federal government funded through December 11.
The final vote was 78 - 20 with 32 Republicans and all Democrats supporting the measure. Montana Senator Steve Daines was not one of the 20 Republicans opposed and released the following statement about his support for the bill:
“Like all Montanans, I know how important it is to keep our government running," Daines said. "While I’m glad the Senate was able to find agreement and ensure the government remains funded, I am disappointed that this bill failed to address several critical issues, including permanently reauthorizing LWCF and directing funding away from Planned Parenthood. I will continue pressing my colleagues to permanently reauthorize LWCF and redirect funding away from scandal-plagued Planned Parenthood to more accessible community health centers.”
