Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On October 9, 2025, a Missoula Police Department Officer was patrolling in the area of the 1100 block of W Broadway. While there, the officer looked over and noticed on the southwest side of the building that someone had set up a tarp hanging off the fence.

The officer noticed 51-year-old Kathleen Welloffman sitting under the tarp. The officer asked Welloffman if she knew she was trespassing, and she stated, “No.” However, the officer found her approximately 20 feet away from a sign that stated, “No Trespassing.”

The sign had been painted over, making it difficult to read the lettering. However, the officer performed a records check on Welloffman and was informed that she was trespassed by another officer from Secret Seconds, located at 1136 W Broadway on August 31, 2025, just four weeks prior.

The officer asked Welloffman if she remembered this, and she said, "No." The officer placed Welloffman under arrest. While conducting a search incident to arrest, the officer found five yellow capsule pills with the numbers “215” on them. When asked if she had a prescription, Welloffman stated she didn’t know what they were and that she found them.

The officer read Welloffman her Miranda rights, and she said she did not want to speak. The officer reviewed the pills on drugs.com and found them to be 300mg of Gabapentin. Which, as of October 1, 2025, is now a Schedule V drug under Montana Law.
