Missoula Police Arrest Man for DUI of Drugs
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - At approximately 2:32 a.m. on February 21, 2025, a Missoula Police Department Officer observed a vehicle traveling south on Russell St. without headlights on. The officer conducted a U-Turn to conduct a traffic stop. While catching up to the vehicle, to run the license plate, the vehicle went east down an alley on Prince St. The vehicle then pulled into a parking spot behind the apartments.
The officer turned on her lights and initiated a traffic stop. The officer immediately noticed that the vehicle, a White Ford F-150, did not have any license plates. The officer exited her vehicle and approached the driver, who was later identified as 30-year-old Jade Newberry.
The officer informed Newberry of the reason for the stop. Newberry was already handing the officer his driver’s license, and was currently on the phone with his wife. The officer asked Newberry for the rest of his documents and asked him to end the phone call. Newberry became agitated and told the officer he had every right to be on the phone.
The officer again asked Newberry for his documents. Newberry told the officer he did not have any and would ask his wife to bring them. The officer told Newberry that she did not want his wife coming to the traffic stop. When the officer asked Newberry for his address, he had to ask his wife, who was currently still on the phone.
The officer noticed Newberry’s pupils were dilated and they were not constricting when she provided light on them with a flashlight. Based on the officer’s training and experience, pupils may not constrict if a person is under the influence of illegal narcotics.

Newberry is currently being charged with felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs, DUI first offense, failure to display license plates, and driving after dark without headlights lit.
