At around 12:30 a.m. Saturday, Missoula Police Department officers responded to the report of a disturbance involving a knife at an apartment complex in the 1900 block of South Third Street West. Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh explains.

“When they arrived, they found a chaotic scene with several people in the area,” Welsh said. “Many of them were moving around or yelling for officer’s attention. They were able to determine that there had been a disturbance and that there were people with injuries. Three people were transported to the hospital with injuries as a result of an edged weapon of some kind.”

According to Welsh, detectives were called out and they conducted several interviews. Those interviews are still ongoing.

“We believe that we have identified all persons directly involved in the knife incident,” Welsh said. “We are continuing the investigation today. There are no arrests made at this time. We have also recovered evidence related to the weapon and we do not believe that there is any further danger to the public at this point.”
