At around 1:45 a.m. on Monday, someone called 911 and reported that a male and female were committing a crime on her property. Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh explains.

“The male was actually engaged in committing a theft and the female was there with him,” Welsh said. “The female victim went outside and confronted the male. She asked them to get out of her car. The male approached her aggressively and yelled at her. He ultimately shoved her on the ground and she suffered minor injuries.”

According to Welsh, the male and female left the area on foot.

“The officer spoke to the female victim who gave a description of the two individuals,” Welsh said. “A short time later, they were located in the 100 block of Madison street. They were positively identified by the victim as having been the suspects in her vehicle. The two were arrested. The male is identified as 36-year-old Kewan Freeman. At this point, the female has not been charged. She is a 36-year-old.”

Freeman is being charged with one count of felony robbery and this is not the first time he has been arrested for this type of crime. On May 8, 2019, Freeman was arrested for robbery. In that particular case, Freeman allegedly assaulted a man and took a female’s wallet and phone.
