Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On September 16, 2026, a Missoula County Sheriff’s Office Deputy was dispatched to assist probation and parole in a search of a probationer’s RV. Probation Officers (PO) had gone to the residence of 37-year-old Devin Peasley, who was on probation. Devin’s mother told them that Devin stayed in an RV on the property.

They knocked on the door of the RV to make contact with the residents. A PO observed a female moving around the RV, rummaging around near the fridge in the kitchen. She appeared to be fully dressed and finally opened the door for the officers. She claimed the delay was because she was getting dressed.

Devin was lying on the bed in the RV. He and the female were removed for a probation search. Near where Devin was lying on the bed and under a blanket, the PO located three glass pipes and a small blowtorch. The deputy recognized these as pipes used to consume illicit drugs.

Uncovering Evidence: The Log's Hidden Secrets

Then the PO located a wooden log in a cardboard box in front of the fridge that had a compartment in it. Inside the compartment in the log was a small baggie with white crystal shards, a corked glass vial with more white crystal shards, a small baggie with other small baggies rolled up in it, an empty glass vial, and three thin glass pipes. A small digital scale was also found in the box. The deputy recognized the various packaging materials and the scale as consistent with the distribution of drugs.

The female was Mirandized. She denied any knowledge of the drugs or paraphernalia and said most of the items in the RV were Devin’s. Devin was Mirandized and said he purchased the RV and stays there. He claimed some items in the RV belonged to the prior owner. He claimed he did not know who the meth or pipes belonged to.

The deputy stepped away while the PO continued talking to Devin. The deputy heard the PO remark on how the log was cool and unique. Devin said he could not remember how he got the log, but agreed it was cool. No officer had mentioned the log to Devin prior to this.

Devin was placed under arrest, and court documents indicate that he admitted to another deputy that he knew about the meth while being escorted to a vehicle. The female was also placed under arrest. The white crystals tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine on an ACE-ID detection device. The total weight of meth was over 20 grams in three different packages.

Devin was transported to the Missoula County Detention Center. He is currently being charged with felony criminal possession with intent to distribute and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $25,000.
