Missoula Crime Report: Two Cases Involved Cruelty to Animals, One Puppy was Killed
The Missoula County Attorney’s Office filed 13 new criminal complaints this week. There were four violent crimes, four property crimes and five drug crimes. According to County Attorney Kirsten Pabst, there were two cases that involved cruelty to animals.
“In one of those cases, the defendant allegedly killed a puppy,” Pabst said. “In the other, there were nine counts involving dogs that were allegedly confined by their owner in a very small space for an extend time, resulting in significant health consequences for the animals.”
Pabst also mentioned two particular cases that fell into the property crime category.
“We charged two individuals for allegedly breaking into vehicles that were parked, smashing the windows, and taking property,” Pabst said. “Those two individuals were charged with forgery, criminal mischief, and theft. There was a burglary charge involving burglary and deceptive practices. In that case, the allegation was that the defendant entered a residence without permission. The victims were known to her. She stole a debit card and allegedly used it.”
There were three methamphetamine cases and one involved intent to distribute. In addition, two individuals faced drug charges for possessing heroin and meth with intent to sell.
