Man Damages Four Missoula Businesses Within 24 Hours
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On December 2, 2025, at 11:33 p.m., six Missoula Police Department Officers were dispatched to a burglary alarm at the Southgate Market. The alarm was for a glass break. Two officers arrived first and informed other officers via radio that a window at the Market had been broken, and the front door was shattered. Officers gave commands to anyone in the building, and when no one exited, the building was cleared by officers.
An officer met with the owners of the store in the parking lot next to the Market. One owner provided the officer with surveillance video and time stamps. The officer saw a male, later identified as 35-year-old Jared Williams, shattering the front door and entering the store. Williams is then observed taking multiple items from the store and exiting. The owners believed Williams took multiple vapes from the Market. Williams used what appeared to be a long stick or rod to shatter the glass door.
At approximately 12:23 a.m., an officer was traveling south on Orange St. and observed Williams walking. The officer identified herself as law enforcement and instructed Williams to stop. Williams did not comply and continued walking. The officer drew her taser and informed Williams that if he did not stop walking, he would be tased. Williams complied and was taken into custody. At which time, Williams was subject to a search incident to arrest and found to have a "tooter straw" on his person.

That Wasn’t the Only Place Williams Burglarized
A detective was assigned the case and found multiple other incidents where the suspect was reported as wearing the same clothing as Williams was wearing. The incidents found by the detective included images and or video of a suspect using an elongated tool to strike cameras and glass at the Starbuds Dispensary. The suspect was found to match the physical description of Williams, including the very distinct drawstring bag with the three yellow, almost reflective, stripes on it.
Another incident found by the detective occurred at Elevated Dispensary, where Williams was depicted using an elongated tool to smash glass. Additionally, the detective was provided images from St. Patrick Hospital's video surveillance, which showed Williams smashing two windshields of employee's personal vehicles utilizing an elongated tool.
The detective found that Williams caused damage to four different locations, all within the City of Missoula, in less than a twenty-four-hour period. The exact monetary damage is unknown but is projected to be significant.
