Missoula Woman Facing 5th DUI After Ditching Car Near Boat Ramp
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On July 30th, 2026, a Missoula Police Department officer was dispatched to 900 Cregg Ln. for a report of a vehicle being parked on the sidewalk by the Silver Park Boat Ramp. Upon arrival, the officer located a Mercury Sable with an odor of alcoholic beverage emitting from the open window. The officer observed an empty can of Rita’s pina-rita, an empty PBR beer can, and Steel Reserve in the back seat floorboard.
Officers determined the driver to be 53-year-old Roxanne Bunting, who reportedly left the area and was headed towards the California St. Footbridge. Another officer responded to the north side of the bridge and found Bunting.
The officer approached Bunting and asked her about the illegally parked vehicle. The officer also knew Bunting had an arrestable warrant. The officer was unable to review Bunting’s photograph prior to contact and upon inquiry, Bunting initially pretended not to know what the officer was talking about. Bunting ultimately admitted to driving the vehicle.

The officer noticed that Bunting was swaying while sitting and standing, her eyes were watery, her face appeared pale, and she appeared to have a dazed expression. While speaking, her words were incoherent and slurred. During the interaction, Bunting informed the officer that she was “drunk.” Bunting admitted to drinking four beers and when asked where the cans were, Bunting stated she put them in the trash or threw them on the ground, before eventually telling the officer that the cans were in her car.
The officer requested Bunting participate in the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, but Bunting refused. The officer learned that Bunting had three prior DUI convictions and two prior refusals under Implied Consent. The officer read Bunting the PAST Advisory, but Bunting refused to provide a PBT. The officer then read Bunting the Implied Consent Advisory, but Bunting refused testing. The officer applied for a warrant for Bunting’s blood, which was approved, and Bunting was transported to St. Patrick Hospital, where a blood draw was conducted. Bunting was then remanded to jail.
