Oreo From Missoula Humane Society Was One Sweet Cookie on TMHT
It is always a better day when you get to pet a puppy full of rambunctious, loving spirit.
It was another Take Me Home Tuesday here at the radio stations, sponsored by our animal-loving friends at Paul's Pancake Parlor. Janet from the Humane Society of Western Montana introduced us to Oreo.
Oreo and his twin brother Archie are new arrivals at the shelter, made possible by a transfer from the Havre Animal Shelter. He is mostly solid black in color except for his four white socks and white chest. Guessing the mix of breed is still a bit tricky yet.
At 4-5 months old, Oreo is full of energy and a bit skittish. But a bribe of a few Milk Bone Mini Flavor Snacks won the day.
Patience, people. Oreo was obviously new to a leash and was most comfortable in his crate. But he was also quiet, gentle and affectionate during his visit once he calmed down a bit. If you can provide a loving environment for a pup in need of a forever home, it's worth a visit to the shelter to meet Oreo.
FREE VACCINATION CLINICS NEXT WEEK
The Humane Society of Western Montana is offering another low-cost/no-cost vaccination day, this time at the shelter at 5930 Highway 93 South in Missoula. The clinic runs from 2:30-5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15. It's first-come, first-served and you can bring your cats and your dogs. A donation of $20 is recommended but NOT required.
Janet advises that you come into the shelter to check in, then wait in your vehicles with your animals. They will provide all the vaccinations that are needed. If you have questions you can call the shelter at 406-549-3934.
It is pretty rare to find an animal shelter that has three full-time vets on staff, But our shelter is blessed to be in that position.
The Humane Society of Western Montana is open Wednesdays-Sundays from 1:00-6:00 p.m.
