Montana isn't exactly the easiest—or cheapest—place to buy a house these days.

Or at least I'm told... I can't say for certain, as my radio salary inhibits me from purchasing a house here, or pretty much everywhere else.

My Instagram algorithm fed me a video that featured "The 20 Most Expensive Mountain Towns in the U.S." The video and research come from Santos Family Realty, a Montana-based real estate team.

To nobody's surprise, Montana is home to two of the most expensive in the nation.

Big Sky, Montana

Big Sky checked in at #7 on the most expensive list with an average house price of $1.87 million.

Any surprise there?

The other Montana town was Whitefish, checking in at #20. The average home price runs you at $1.10 million.

More of the Most Expensive Mountain Towns in the U.S.

Colorado dominates the list with 11 towns. Aspen checks in as the most expensive with $3.35 million on average.

Then there's Snowmass Village, Telluride, Mountain Village, Vail, Edwards, Crested Butte, Blue River, Steamboat Springs, and I can't type any more Colorado towns because my fingers are cramping.

The other states that were represented were Idaho, Nevada, Wyoming, Utah, and California.
