We're finally into summer weather and that means plenty of outdoor activities for everyone in western Montana. And if you've only ever thought of Snowbowl as a place for skiing, snowboarding, and winter activities, here's your reminder that there's also plenty to do on the mountain during the summer months.
Snowbowl opened for their summer season a little over a week ago and will be open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through September 11.
Take the Grizzly Lift up to 7000 feet where you can see for 100 miles, then maybe play a round of folf, or try one of our mountain bike trails, hike or ride the lift back down. Soar over canyon and through the forest flying on four separate zip lines circling the base area. When it is time to take a break, stop at the Last Run Inn for a wood fired pizza or one of Garland’s famous Bloody Marys.
Snowbowl's website has all the information you need about activities, chair times, costs, directions, and more.
If winter fun at the mountain is more your thing, construction continues on a new chairlift that's scheduled to open in the fall.
The new lift will be a triple-seater, the first one on the mountain to carry three riders per chair. It will also rank among the steepest in the country when it takes riders 1,700 feet up the mountain in less than 10 minutes.
It just started but the clock is already ticking! You have just over two months to visit Snowbowl if you're looking for outdoor fun and adventure during the summer.
