Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On December 5, 2024, at around 11:15 AM, the Missoula Police Department provided a statement about threats being made against Montana schools. Police Public Information Officer Whitney Bennett explains.

"The Missoula Police Department is aware of the recent reports of threats against the schools received across the state, including in Great Falls, Kalispell, Bozeman, and Billings," Bennett said. "At this time, we have no information that confirms these threats to be credible."

Bennett said the safety of our students, staff, and community members is their top priority.

"While there is no verified threat to our schools, we are taking these reports seriously and have increased patrols at local schools as a precautionary measure," Bennett said. "We encourage parents, students, and community members to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement immediately. The Missoula Police Department remains committed to providing a safe learning environment for all students."
