Woman Tries to Hide Drug Paraphernalia at the Missoula Jail
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On July 8, 2024, a Missoula Police Department Officer responded to a residence in the 1900 block of West Broadway Street to aid Probation and Parole officers on the scene. Probation officers told the officer that 35-year-old Sheena Flankey claimed ownership of a black fanny pack that contained suspected methamphetamine and paraphernalia.
Flankey provided the officer with consent to search her bag. It had a baggie containing a white powdery crystal substance suspected to be methamphetamine based on the officer’s training and experience. Flankey admitted the fanny pack was hers, but stated the drugs and associated pipe were not.
A backpack was also found that Flankey claimed ownership of. Within the backpack was another baggie of what appeared to be methamphetamine, another glass pipe consistent with meth use, two used hypodermic needles, 12 tooter straws, a handheld torch, several plastic baggies with white powdery residue within, and five folded pieces of tin foil with burnt residue on them. Flankey denied ownership of the drugs and paraphernalia.
Flankey was transported to the Missoula County Detention Center for booking. While she was going through the booking process, she attempted to hide a tooter straw, an item commonly used as drug paraphernalia. Flankey appeared to first try and drop the straw down a pant leg and kick it under the body scan machine. That did not work, so she grabbed the straw and tossed it behind the machine.

The officer used a TRUNARC device to test the suspected methamphetamine. The substance in one of the two baggies from Flankey’s possessions tested positive for methamphetamine.
