Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On May 13, 2026, at approximately 1:50 p.m., a Missoula Police Department Officer responded to the parking lot in the 2200 block of Mullan Road at the request of Probation and Parole. A Probation and Parole Officer (PO) informed the officer that they witnessed what they believed to be a “hand-to-hand” transaction involving one of their probationers, 37-year-old Tiffiny Christensen.

Christensen was currently detained in the back seat of the PO’s vehicle and appeared to be fidgeting around while in the seat. The officer opened the door and asked Christensen to step out of the vehicle, to which she complied. A search incident to arrest was conducted on Christensen where no illicit items were discovered.

However, POs searched Christensen’s purse and located what appeared to be a white powdery substance in a small baggy. The powdery substance was in a tan colored baggy and appeared to the officer to resemble powdered fentanyl. The officer discovered that Probation and Parole had found the baggie in a multi-colored hard-covered wallet previously been inside Christensen’s purse.

Probation told the officer that Christensen admitted to them that it was methamphetamine. After being advised of a Miranda Warning, Christensen spoke with the officer and admitted that the drugs found by POs were methamphetamine, but claimed that she was holding it for a friend and that it was not hers.

Probation and Parole said they were taking Christensen to the Missoula County Detention Center. The officer informed them that she would be heading to the Police Department to test the white powdery substance seized from Christensen’s wallet. Upon returning to the Police Department, the officer used a TruNarc to scan the substance. The substance tested presumptively positive for methamphetamine. The substance is being stored pending transport to the Montana State Crime Lab for Chemical Analysis.
