Over $79 million in homeland security grants have been awarded to Montana recipients since 2005. The Montana Office of Homeland Security Grants Program hosted a grant workshop, at the Helena Armed Forces Reserve Center, last week, to define the steps for applying for more grants, outline requirements for eligibility, and provide training for the new forms, and online application process. Montana Disaster and Emergency Services Public Information officer Monique Lay says the grants have provided an array of equipment that would not be in Montana without the program.
