Governor Steve Bullock will be in Washington D.C. till next week, speaking with officials about Medicaid expansion.

"Our statement from the governor is that I've been encouraged over the past few weeks to hear the President and Secretary Burwell express their desire to work with states to find paths forward to expand Medicaid health coverage for their residence," Bullock's Spokesman Dave Parker said. "There is one state this year to approve expansion legislatively. Montana represents an opportunity for them to show their commitment to this goal. Yesterday Secretary Burwell and I had a frank conversation about the importance of getting this measure approved for Montana."

When asked why the conversation was “frank,” Parker said that Governor Bullock has been insistent that Montana’s Medicaid expansion remain a “made in Montana solution.”
