The Montana Attorney General reports prescription drugs kill 300 Montanans every year, making them more deadly than meth, heroin, and cocaine, combined. A bill targeting prescription drug abuse was endorsed Friday by the House. Representative Tom Berry's bill would create a prescription drug registry, requiring pharmacists to make an entry into a computer database, when they fill a prescription. The goal is to use the record to identify people who go from doctor to doctor, to get multiple prescriptions. Representative Berry says this requirement will save lives.
