East Helena Infant Injured, Parents Arrested

A 26-year-old East Helena man has been arrested on suspicion of felony assault on a minor after his 8-week-old son suffered fractured ribs and bruises on many parts of his body.

The Independent Record reports Shane Gabriel Burson was arrested Thursday after the infant was treated at a Helena hospital.

The baby's mother, 25-year-old Patricia Ann Harris, was arrested on suspicion of felony criminal endangerment. Charging documents say she left her son in Burson's care when she knew he had been convicted of second-degree assault on an 8-month-old baby in Washington state and had found injuries on the baby after leaving him with Burson while she went to work.
