Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - Montana’s Eastern District Congressman Matt Rosendale took time early Friday morning to visit KGVO prior to his attending a State Republican meeting this weekend in Missoula.

Rosendale was in Missoula for a State Republican Meeting

Just as Senator Steve Daines was outraged over drag shows at Montana’s Malmstrom Air Force Base, Congressman Rosendale added more instances where the military-sponsored such shows.

“I've got eight different things here, s June 10, 2018, USS Ronald Reagan multiple drag shows performed by Yeoman second class, Joshua Kelly,” began Rosendale. “June 30, 2021, Malmstrom Air Force Base drag queen storytime. June 17, 2021, at Nellis Air Force Base, a drag show in Las Vegas, in May of 2022, Ramstein Air Force Base drag queen story time in Germany. This is terrible that people across our country and across our state do not want to see funds being used for that. They don't want to see these types of activities going on with our military bases.”

Rosendale said Speaker McCarthy 'Pulled out the Rug' on Republicans

Rosendale provided his perspective on the recent deal with Democrats to end the debt ceiling crisis.

“Peter, I reduce it down to basic bottom-line principles,” he said. “The federal government based upon this transaction will spend more money next year than they did this year. And Kevin McCarthy signed off and came before the conference and said he Kevin McCarthy is the one who inserted this into the debt ceiling deal. Increasing it until January 25.”

Rosendale continued the debt ceiling debate.

“Now we know that he basically just gave a blank check, because it's to a date certain to let Biden increase the debt ceiling, anywhere from $4 to as much as $5 trillion, which means that everything that we do from now until January 25, is basically being held in limbo, because there won't be any funding mechanism attached to it, to force it to be passed through. So he basically pulled the rug on us.”

Rosendale Decried the Weaponization of the Justice Department

Rosendale also addressed the weaponization of the Justice Department by the Biden Administration against former President Trump.

“It's tragic and it's dangerous for our country to see the Department of Justice go out and have this blatant double standard, and to have a sitting president go after a former president who also is his most likely opponent in an upcoming election and try to use the government to shut him down, stifle him keeping from winning the nomination. Our country is in a dangerous spot now, and that's why we have got to take strong measures. We have to fight to take our country back.”

Rosendale will be speaking at this weekend’s Republican state gathering in Missoula.
