On Sunday, U.S. Senator Steve Daines voted yes on a procedural vote to advance the nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the United States Supreme Court. Daines said Barrett may be the most qualified Supreme Court nominee he has seen in his lifetime.

“She's incredibly brilliant and she receives accolades from both sides of the spectrum as it relates to judicial philosophy and politics,” Daines said. “But to top that all off, she's this amazing human. I mean, she's this great mom. She has five biological children. Her youngest child, little Benjamin, has Down syndrome. They've adopted two Haitian children. So their parents have seven children. She'll be the first mother of school aged children to ever sit in the United States Supreme Court. I call her this brilliant judge and she's also a minivan mom.”

During his time on KGVO’s Montana Morning Show, Daines also talked about some of the political ads that are being aired against him.

“Unfortunately, so much of this is out of state dark money,” Daines said. “It's being used to smear lies about me and my record. It's coming straight from Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi’s playbook. On preexisting conditions, these ads are blatantly false. I will always protect those with preexisting conditions. It's a personal issue for me. My sister Susan tragically lost her life because of a preexisting condition. She battled it for many, many years. Had she not had access to her health care insurance, they would have been bankrupt.”

If Democrats gain control of the House, Senate, and Presidency, Daines believes they will perform a radical agenda to ban fracking. Daines said that is a direct threat to over 35,000 jobs in Montana.

“It's frightening to think that these crazy liberals, if the elections don't turn out the right way, will have power in Washington,” Daines said. “That's why it's so important. Election Day is a week away. We've got to encourage everybody in Missoula County, Ravalli County, and across Montana to get their ballots in the mail today, because it's going to take some time to get those ballots delivered to the receiving stations or go deliver your ballot in person.”

Daines is running for re-election to the U.S. Senate to represent Montana. His opponent is current Montana Governor Steve Bullock.
