Firefighters located and extinguished spot fires yesterday on the Ambrose Saddle Fire 12 miles east of Stevensville. The fire happened  late Monday evening and was likely started  by a holdover lightning strike. Now that the fire is fifty percent contained some firefighters have been released. Public Affairs officer, Boyd Hartwig says the fire is located in thick vegetation.

Hardwig says spot fires near the perimeter of the  fire may continue to come to life over the next several days and locating and extinguishing them will be the focus of firefighters who remained assigned to the fire.
