Woman With Outstanding Warrants and Meth in Purse Calls Missoula 911, Gets Arrested
Over the weekend, Missoula police responded to a 911 call and ended up arresting the woman who placed the call. Police Public Information officer Travis Welsh explains how the incident began.
"On Saturday, around 10:00 a.m. in the morning, a woman called 911 to request an officer's assistance after she had been evicted from her residence," Welsh said. "The officers made contact with her at the location and determined that the eviction was, in fact, a civil issue and that they had no jurisdiction."
The woman had skipped out on a number of court appearances and was apparently carrying drugs when police arrived.
"This individual had outstanding warrants for her arrest and she was taken into custody," Welsh said. "She was identified as 37-year-old Summer Hunter. When transported to the jail it was determined that she also had in her possession methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Currently she is being held on a charge of criminal possession of dangerous drugs.
The felony drug charge is just one among six charges Hunter is facing: four of those are for failing to appear in court for past misdemeanors.
