On May 16, an unidentified woman cashed a fraudulent check at Marvin's Bar near the Wye. Now, the Missoula County Sheriff's Department is seeking the woman for questioning.

Sheriff's Department Public Information Officer Paige Pavalone said the woman produced falsified identification to cash the check.

"We were contacted by the owner of Marvin's Bar who said a female came in on May 16 at about 10:00 p.m. and cashed a business check from a St. Ignatius construction company in the amount of $780," Pavalone said. "The female provided a false name and a false social security number and then left with the cash. The check, made out for a race entry fee, was recently returned to the bar by the bank. It was discovered that the name provided by the woman was false. The name that was signed was that of a woman who lives in Missoula, and she had nothing to do with it."

Pavalone said the woman was last seen leaving the establishment driving at black, four-door sedan.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call Missoula Crimestoppers at 721-44-44, or call Detective Gunter at the Missoula County Sheriff's Department at 258-4810.
