Watson's Children's Shelter in Missoula is the only non-profit in Montana to receive a cash award from Walmart's '12 Days Of Giving' campaign.

Walmart awarded $187,500 to 15 nonprofits that provide shelter and support to men, women and children in need. The shelter welcomes Montana children who have experienced abuse, neglect, abandonment or a family crisis.

Over twelve consecutive days, Walmart will award a total of $1.5 million to 140 organizations across the country that are providing basic needs and services such as food, shelter, clothing and medical care.

Shelter director Fran Albrecht says the shelter now houses over 35 children who are victims of neglect, abuse or abandonment, and with the need for their services increasing, the gift from Walmart will be put to good use.
