Warrant Arrest Uncovers Meth And Paraphernalia In Missoula
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On July 5, 2025, Missoula Police Department officers were conducting a foot patrol in the area near 501 North California Street and the California Street Footbridge. An officer observed a significant amount of trash and two people asleep on the observation deck. When the officer approached, he announced his presence and asked the two individuals to wake up.
The officer immediately recognized one of the persons, 29-year-old Jori Hurckes, as being the subject of a no-bond Probation and Parole warrant. They identified themselves as Alex Hurckes. The officers later learned that Alex is the preferred name for Jori Hurckes.
Hurckes was placed under arrest after dispatch confirmed they were the subject of the active no-bond warrant. Hurckes requested that their purse also be taken to the jail. An officer obtained the purse and asked Hurckes if they would consent to a search of the purse. Hurckes expressly consented to the search, and the officer advised Hurckes that consent could be revoked at any time.

Within the purse was a small change purse with another key chain bag attached. Within this was a small blue baggie containing a white/clear crystal-like substance. Based on the officer’s training, experience, and knowledge, he recognized that this substance appeared consistent with Methamphetamine.
Additionally, the officer discovered tin foil with a burnt black/brown residue on it. Based on his training, experience, and knowledge, the officer observed that the tin foil appeared consistent with drug paraphernalia used in the heating of dangerous drugs for consumption.

Hurckes was transported to the Missoula County Detention Center. Hurckes is currently being charged with felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia. Hurckes bond was set at $5,000.
