Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks biologists have put reward tags on 250 walleye and are offering $75 to anglers who report catching the fish, whether they keep them or release them.

Department biologists say they tagged the fish to study how many walleye are caught that measure from 20 to 28 inches, as well as study seasonal fish movement, growth and habitat use. Walleye in the 20- to 28-inch range must be released, but anglers can still collect the reward by cutting off the tag before releasing the fish.

Tags can be sent to any department office for the reward.
