Man Threatens to ‘Take Out’ 10-20 Missoula Police Officers
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - At approximately 2:44 p.m. on August 5, 2024, several Missoula Police Department Officers responded to a disturbance in progress at the Poverello Center. Two males were seen physically fighting and continued to fight until law enforcement arrived. An officer approached one of the men who was later identified as 32-year-old Clint Irvine.
Irvine was given a lawful order to stop but he kept walking. An officer grabbed Irvine’s hand and he pulled away. Another officer arrived and assisted in placing Irvine into handcuffs. Irvine was instructed to spread his feet, but he refused and resisted. Irvine kicked his feet toward officers and threatened to kill them. Irvine was taken down to the ground and placed on his stomach.
Once on the ground, he called officers, one of whom present was African American, the “n-word”, and then tried to wiggle away while they were attempting to search him for weapons. He then told the officers that he would “knock us out with one punch.” He then stated he would “cap” one of the officers with a “.38”. Officers asked Irvine if he was threatening them, to which Irvine responded that he was.
Officers attempted to place Irvine in a “wrap” device and Irvine threatened to kill all officers that were there. Irvine was placed in the back seat of a patrol vehicle and transported to St. Patrick’s Hospital for medical clearance. During the drive to the hospital, at the hospital, and on the drive to the jail, Irvine continued to threaten to kill officers. At one point, he stated that he planned to “take out” 10-20 officers that day.
