In order to keep up with local and national demand for certified medical assistants, Missoula College has reestablished its medical assistance program.
The U.S. Department of Labor has provided $15 million in grants to Montana's community colleges, and Missoula College received $8 million of the funds.
The worlds of education, business and government were all represented on the dais at Friday's groundbreaking ceremony for the new Missoula College building on East Broadway.
After a careful look over, University of Montana President Royce Engstrom announced that construction for the new Missoula College is set to be at 1205 E. Broadway.
A draft environmental statement for the proposed Missoula College building on East Broadway has been completed, and public comment is now being sought.
Now that the decision to place the new Missoula College at the East Broadway location has been made, the first meeting to plan the new facility will be on Thursday, November 14 at the Holiday Inn-Missoula Downtown.

The public will have an opportunity to give their feedback next week on the two proposed sites for a new Missoula College building. They are the original South Campus location, where the present University of Montana Golf Course stands, and a site on East Broadway across the river from the campus.
At one point in time, it appeared that the University of Montana was determined to place the Missoula College on the UM Golf Course.
