Montana firefighters are working under an extreme amount of stress as they try to extinguish all the surrounding wildfires in the state and some members of the community are making their jobs even more difficult.
Just before 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, the Missoula City Fire Department responded to a gas line hit and rupture that occurred at the intersection of 34th Street and Bellecrest Drive.
BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — A wildfire driven by strong weekend winds has burned 4.5-square miles in south-central Montana and forced the evacuation of more than 50 homes in a subdivision where at least two structures have been lost.
Fire crews have increased containment of a wind-driven wildfire that destroyed 40 homes, but say they don't know yet when residents evacuated from two small California towns at the eastern base of the Sierra Nevada will be able to return home.
