Eric Luther, 43, of Victor was identified on Monday, July 8 as the man who was killed in an all-terrain vehicle accident that occurred on Thursday afternoon, July 4.

A homeowner near Reed Butte, not far from Stevensville in the Bitterroot Valley, lost control of a brush fire on Thursday afternoon, and the strong winds in the area spread the fire to over 150 acres, prompting Ravalli County sheriff's deputies to evacuate several homes in the area.

In a special news release from Ravalli County Sheriff Chris Hoffman, residents in the Bitterroot valley are being asked to not burn on Saturday, April 27.

A controlled burn quickly went out of control near Corvallis Hills Estate late Wednesday afternoon, leading to the evacuations of several homes in the area, and three different fire departments called in to battle the blaze, which was reported at about 4:30 p.m.

Ravalli County Sheriff's Deputies were involved in a high-speed chase Tuesday morning, Feb. 5, after a suspect in a possible car theft fled the area.
