Flower Dispensary To Take Over Abandoned Montana Subway
The old Subway on Brooks St, which has sat empty since the restaurant chain downsized to just three locations in Missoula, has a new yet familiar tenant. Flower Dispensary, which up until this week shared the building with what Subway left behind, is excited to take over the restaurant's previous space with plans to showcase their recreational and medicinal wares.
It's sure to attract many more Brooks St drivers.
We spoke with Kate Long, the wife of Flower Dispensary owner Bobby Long about their plans for the space.
We do our sales, packaging and distribution all in our shop currently. We're going to move our dispensary and sales out to the floor with the wonderful natural light those big windows bring in. We'll be able to showcase our products more effectively.
Long is right: the big windows which used to bring in natural light for Subway customers will now be used to highlight the recreational and medical products that Flower offers. Recreational marijuana sales and use have been legal in Montana for those 21 or older since January 1st 2022. Flower also operates a dispensary in Kalispell.
Nostalgia Time
Bonus points if you remember what used to be in Flower Dispensary's place circa 2012...?
The interior does look a little messy right now, but you can look past it to see the potential for an attractive sales floor. The space where the Subway counter used to be makes an ideal location for a sales counter.
The tiny shop which Long, her husband, and their employees use for all their business needs will now be exclusively for packaging and order processing, with their products and sales happening up front.
As soon as Subway left this location, the empty space wasn't doing anybody any good. It's wonderful hearing that a local Montana business is getting the chance to grow and succeed.
