Missoula Police Investigate Shots Fired Near Johnson and Kent
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On February 18, at 7:39 PM, the Missoula Police Department announced that they are currently conducting an investigation into an incident involving shots fired in the area of Johnson St. and W. Kent. Police Public Information Officer Whitney Bennett provided the following information.
“Promptly responding to the scene, patrol officers implemented a shelter-in-place protocol, which was in effect for approximately one hour, ensuring the safety of residents in the vicinity,” Bennett said. “That has since been lifted for the area. During the initial response and subsequent investigation, patrol officers apprehended a 28-year-old male suspect.”
According to Bennett, another 28-year-old male has been detained and is currently being interviewed by MPD detectives. At this time, MPD has not released the names of these individuals and neither has been charged.
“The circumstances surrounding the incident are actively under scrutiny, and the Missoula Police Department is committed to a thorough investigation,” Bennett said. “We urge anyone with information related to this incident to contact the Missoula Police Department desk at (406) 552-6300. The cooperation of the community is invaluable in assisting law enforcement to swiftly resolve and bring closure to this matter.”

As the investigation progresses, further updates will be provided through MPD’s official social media platforms. MPD appreciates the public's cooperation and understanding during this ongoing investigation.
