A Day on the Water Takes a Turn After Raft Vanishes in Missoula
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On May 11, 2025, at around 2:05 p.m., Missoula County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the Sha Ron Fishing Access for a report of a theft of a raft. A deputy contacted a male, John Doe, who said he and a friend had offloaded a raft there.
While offloading, he said there was a group of Native Americans and one white female standing on or near the boat ramp that appeared intoxicated and were belligerent. After offloading the raft, Doe tied the raft and began shuttling vehicles to their pick-up point.
Doe returned to the fishing access at 2:30 p.m. and observed that the raft was gone, as was the group he had previously observed. Other individuals in the area advised that the group had taken the raft and headed downstream. Doe located a wallet that was left near where his raft was tied. Doe opened the wallet and observed that it belonged to Gregory Gobert.

Doe attempted to head the group off at the Easy Street access in an attempt to regain his raft, but was unable to locate it. Subsequently, Missoula Police Department officers contacted the Missoula County Sheriff’s Office, advising that the raft was located near Caras Park. Three individuals were detained near the raft: 28-year-old Gregory Gobert, 31-year-old Nichole Iwan, and 26-year-old Stevie Home-Gun.
Gobert and Home-Gun both advised that they were at the Sha Ron Fishing Access and had gone there with Gobert’s sister, Iwan, and an unknown male. Gobert and Home-Gun advised that Iwan took the raft, but they all used the raft floating downstream with it. Gobert and Home-Gun knew it wasn’t their raft.

Iwan, Home-Gun, and Gobert are all being charged with felony theft.
According to court documents, Iwan currently has an open matter before Montana’s Fourth Judicial District Court for possession of dangerous drugs. Iwan was on conditions of release at the time of the offense in this matter.
